Contact and records routing

This private reference service is not a government office. It cannot verify current custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Use the responsible public office directly for those matters.

Montgomery County official contacts

For a possible local-jail custody question, contact the MCSO Corrections information route. For an existing adult booking record or initial-intake photograph, direct a reasonably specific request to the Sheriff FOIA channel. These are distinct functions, and neither response is a final court result.

The county FOIA route accepts requests by mail, email, in person, telephone, and the online form. The published framework ordinarily allows five working days, with a possible written seven-working-day extension and actual-cost billing. No fixed Sheriff booking-photo charge is published.

Choose the correct record path

Each source answers a limited question. Matching the question to the custodian avoids treating a record request, a custody inquiry, and a court case as the same record.

  • Use the county booking and custody path for local Corrections, Sheriff FOIA, VADOC, and court-source distinctions.
  • Use Montgomery General District Court criminal and traffic at 540-394-2086 or the Circuit Court Clerk at 540-382-5760, option 7, for local court contacts.
  • Use the VADOC locator only for the separate state-custody or supervision question.
  • Use the BOP locator or ICE locator only when federal or immigration custody is the actual issue.
  • Use the Most Wanted Fugitives page for the county’s official warrant-check contacts and their limits.

Questions about this private service can be sent through the site’s ordinary contact channel. Government records, custody status, court process, and emergency matters must go to the appropriate official source.
